Is your dog exhibiting anxious behavior—like excessive barking, hiding, pacing, or seemingly out-of-nowhere reactions?

It’s your dog’s way of saying, “I’m feeling overwhelmed because I don’t feel safe.”

Before exploring training, medication or other anxiety reducing techniques, consider starting with a simple conversation with your dog. The act of having a heart to heart with them can give you the answers you looking for so you can find out what’s truly going on—straight from your animal.

This is where animal communication can be a game-changer.

While a vet visit is crucial to rule out any physical causes for anxious and reactive behavior, understanding your dog’s thoughts and feelings is the next vital step.

Imagine knowing the root of their distress, moving beyond guesswork.

Most likely, your animal already knows the answers—you just need to ask them. Animal communication offers this pathway, saving you time, money, and a lot of worry.

For 25+ years, I’ve been translating for animals as an Animal Communicator and supporting their humans. As a Dog Anxiety Expert, I’ve seen how transformative and healing having a two-way conversation with your dog can be. I also draw on my background in counseling and holistic care to support you and your animal family together with mutual understanding and respect.

Think of an Animal Communication session with you dog is like having a heart-to-heart with your best friend—creating space for mutual understanding and connection that leads to a calmer and less anxious dog.

Does seeing your dog struggle with anxiety or fear-based reactivity break your heart?

Here are 5 ways Animal Communication Reduces Your Dog’s Anxiety:

Giving Your Dog a Voice:
Your dog constantly communicates through body language, feelings, and behavior. Having a conversation with them during an Animal communication session helps us better understand their messages. When your dog feels heard, it reduces their stress and helps them feel safer.

Uncovering Hidden Triggers:
Sometimes, what stresses your dog might surprise you. An animal communication session can help you discover your dog’s triggers with their input and insight. This allows you to provide targeted support and create a safer environment together.

Gently Interrupting the Stress Cycle:
Dogs are sensitive to their environment and our emotions. Communication helps identify the source of stress.

Guiding You Toward Effective Solutions:
Instead of endless trials of products and services that may not work, your dog’s input can help you pinpoint the underlying causes of their discomfort and tell you what is working (or not working) for them. Their input empowers you to make informed choices that honors their viewpoints saving you time and money.

Deepening Your Bond and Relationship
Just like us, when your dog feels truly heard and understood, it brings a sense of comfort and safety. By acknowledging your dog’s feelings, your bond is strengthened and enriched. This sense of connection helps them feel valued, which can naturally reduce anxiety.

A Partnership Built on Mutual Understanding and Respect

Animal communication is about listening, not fixing. It’s about building a relationship where your dog feels understood and safe.

When your dog feels heard, it can profoundly change their response to stress.

If your dog or animal is showing signs of anxiety, consider having a two-way conversation with them to find out what they need to feel secure. It’s a gentle way to connect and find solutions that work for both of you.

If you’d like to explore how animal communication can support your dog’s well-being and bring more harmony to your home, I would be honored to connect with you.

Please feel free to reach out—I’m here to support you and your animal family on your journey together.

You should.

As the pandemic wears on with no end in sight, we need to trust our gut and inner voice now more than ever to keep us safe. I’m depending on my intuitive senses to help me navigate the new normals that don’t feel normal at all.

Animals are wise teachers and guides on how to respond to imminent danger. Animals rarely hesitate to react to the energy around them because they know the best way to keep safe is to always listen to their instincts.

Cats are great examples of how to stay present in the moment. If they feel specific energy is a threat, they quickly move away from it.

As I like to say, “Humans are inclined to run towards danger while non-human animals tend to run away from it.”

All animals, including humans, are born with instincts that guide us in how to respond at any given moment. Gut instincts, inner knowing, hunches, or “spidey senses” are our internal guidance system that alerts us when there is imminent danger.

As adults, it can be challenging to trust our intuition because we are taught that logic and reason are more important than feelings and gut hunches. Children and animals tend to be more in touch with their instincts because they don’t know any different. Therefore, we have to consciously work at reclaiming our ability to recognize and react to our “spidey senses.”

Recognizing your intuition is about listening and trusting yourself at a deep spiritual level. Thankfully, animals continue to show us how to connect, trust and listen to our gut.

Two great ways to develop your intuitive awareness is by practicing Animal Reiki and Animal Communication. When you quiet your mental chatter and worry, communicating telepathically and offering Reiki gives you direct access to your intuition.

When you practice Animal Reiki and Animal Communication, you naturally connect with your intuitive self. The good news is, once you recognize your “spidey senses,” the easier it is to listen and respond to its wisdom and guidance.

I hope you and your animal family continue to stay safe and above all, trust your intuition.

When traveling, I often suggest my human clients take a surrogate pet to help them feel connected to their animal family. Using a surrogate pet can bring you and your animals’ comfort despite being physically apart.

Before Roz left on a 3-week cruise in South America, we spoke with her two dogs, Beau and Austen during an Animal Communication session to prepare them.

During our conversation, I communicated to the dogs that their moms would be gone for three weeks and reassured them that they would return. I also suggested to Roz that she bring along a stuffed animal to act as a surrogate for her pets.

Roz loved the idea and found Mr. Fuddle-Wuddle while on her cruise.

When Roz returned home, she shared the following:

I asked Cathy, the Animal Muse to help me prepare my dogs for being left at home while I traveled on a three-week vacation. She communicated reassurance to my dogs and suggested that I take a stuffed dog to be a surrogate for my two boys. Cathy told me it would keep me company and my dogs would feel it when I looked at it and thought of them.

I acquired a small, stuffed animal that traveled with me. It must have worked because I came home to two happy and well-adjusted dogs. Thanks to Cathy, the Animal Muse.

Mr. Fuddle-Wuddle brought Roz tremendous peace and comfort on her long trip. Grateful, she gave me a Mr. Fuddle-Wuddle.

A couple of Sundays ago, I saw my neighbor Kevin running frantically towards my house with his dog cradled in his arms. The look on Kevin’s face told me something serious had happened to his Cavalier King Charles, Gigi.

As I quickly opened my front door, Kevin told me that while Gigi was sniffing around in the grass, when right out of the blue, she screamed and jumped. He said Gigi immediately started to kick and bite at her back right knee after she screamed. He was positive she had been stung by a yellow jacket, which is a wasp not a bee.

When I asked Gigi what happened, she confirmed with me telepathically that it was a yellow jacket that bit her. She said her leg felt hot and it really “stung.” Despite panting nervously and biting at her leg, Gigi seemed to be okay. I told Gigi to hang in there and we would make her more comfortable as soon as possible.

I suggested to Kevin that Gigi would benefit from a baking soda poultice and Reiki to help ease her suffering. Reiki, which is a Japanese Energy Healing System, means “Spiritual Energy.” Rei translates into “spirit”and Ki means “energy.” According to the Animal Reiki Source,

“Reiki is ideal for use with animals because it is gentle, noninvasive and doesn’t require physical contact. It doesn’t cause stress, discomfort or pain, and yet yields powerful results. Animals respond intuitively to Reiki’s power to support the healing of emotional, behavioral, and physical illness and injuries.”

Kevin seemed relieved that I knew how to help his “princess” since his wife and daughter weren’t home. So Kevin said, “Let’s do it!”

Poultices, which have been used for years, draw toxins out from the body like wasp/bee stingers and neutralizes the painful venom. They are super simple to make and quite effective. In Gigi’s case, I mixed together a 1/4 cup of baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) and some water until it became the consistency of paste. If I had been outside, I would have made a mud poultice for Gigi, which works just as well.

Once prepared, I gently placed the poultice on Gigi’s leg, careful not to break the “venom sack” around the wasp stinger. I then began to offer Gigi Reiki, which she gladly accepted.

About a minute or so later, I removed the poultice. Gigi communicated to me that she felt stinger was gone. She also said the awful “stinging feeling” from the wasp venom was easing.

Gigi had calmed down enough to take a couple sips of water and eat a Charlie Bear cookie I offered her. Both excellent signs she was well on her way to recovery. I then gingerly handed Gigi back to her “Poppa” and sent them home.

I continued to offer Gigi Reiki from a distance after they left. About 45 minutes later, I felt Gigi say that the Reiki had helped her a lot and she was ready for a nice long nap.

Later that evening, I received a text message from Kevin saying Gigi was doing great and back to her normal self with no evidence that she had been stung by a yellow jacket. He felt the Reiki and the baking soda poultice helped Gigi a lot and was incredibly relieved and grateful for my assistance. The best part of the text said Gigi took a nap about 45 minutes after they left my house!

I am grateful that I know how to offer Reiki to animals especially in situations like Gigi’s. Reiki has the ability to calm animals down so they can relax. Once relaxed, than the animal’s innate healing process kicks in.
