As pet parents, we do our best to help our animal families to feel safe, loved, and happy. One of the best ways to accomplish this is to share a daily meditation practice with your animal family.

While there are many ways to share quality time with your animal family, meditating together strengthens your relationship and enhances your heart-connection, even if you only have 5 or 10 minutes a day.

Why does meditating with animals have such a profound effect?

Animals are finely attuned to our energy and mirror it. When you feel anxious and stressed, your pets will feel it no matter how hard you try to hide it from them. When you meditate with animals, you show them how much you love and care about them in a calm, peaceful, and open-hearted way.

Here are 5 fabulous reasons to share a meditation practice with your animal family.

Reason #1: Animals are naturally drawn towards peaceful and balanced energy. When you meditate and feel relaxed, so do your animals.

Reason #2: Meditating with animals creates a powerful space of healing and compassion, which enhances your heart connection and relationship with them.

Reason #3: It reduces stress and promotes overall wellness. Daily meditation allows animals to receive a variety of healing benefits like:

Pain relief

Strengthens the immune system

Supports the healing process

Reduces emotional and behavioral issues

Promotes overall wellness

Reason #4: Meditation with animals teaches us to open our hearts and connect through our heart-center. This enables a sense of oneness, which leads to a deeper bond and mutual understanding with animals and Nature.

Reason #5: Animals are masterful meditation teachers and enjoy it when we share calm and loving energy with them.

One of the great things about meditating with animals is you can do it sitting, standing, walking, or even lying down. My cats, Mona and Elvis, prefer it when I do sitting meditations with them.

When my dog, Bodhi, was alive, we loved taking our morning Reiki walks where we connected with wildlife and communed with Nature. It brought us tremendous joy to share this sacred space together.

A daily meditation practice helps you to connect and share relaxed and calm energy. This practice can help animals feel calmer, balanced, and less anxious.

Plus, your animal will thank you in ways you could never imagine when you spend time meditating with them.

You should.

As the pandemic wears on with no end in sight, we need to trust our gut and inner voice now more than ever to keep us safe. I’m depending on my intuitive senses to help me navigate the new normals that don’t feel normal at all.

Animals are wise teachers and guides on how to respond to imminent danger. Animals rarely hesitate to react to the energy around them because they know the best way to keep safe is to always listen to their instincts.

Cats are great examples of how to stay present in the moment. If they feel specific energy is a threat, they quickly move away from it.

As I like to say, “Humans are inclined to run towards danger while non-human animals tend to run away from it.”

All animals, including humans, are born with instincts that guide us in how to respond at any given moment. Gut instincts, inner knowing, hunches, or “spidey senses” are our internal guidance system that alerts us when there is imminent danger.

As adults, it can be challenging to trust our intuition because we are taught that logic and reason are more important than feelings and gut hunches. Children and animals tend to be more in touch with their instincts because they don’t know any different. Therefore, we have to consciously work at reclaiming our ability to recognize and react to our “spidey senses.”

Recognizing your intuition is about listening and trusting yourself at a deep spiritual level. Thankfully, animals continue to show us how to connect, trust and listen to our gut.

Two great ways to develop your intuitive awareness is by practicing Animal Reiki and Animal Communication. When you quiet your mental chatter and worry, communicating telepathically and offering Reiki gives you direct access to your intuition.

When you practice Animal Reiki and Animal Communication, you naturally connect with your intuitive self. The good news is, once you recognize your “spidey senses,” the easier it is to listen and respond to its wisdom and guidance.

I hope you and your animal family continue to stay safe and above all, trust your intuition.

TTouch Heart Hugs are an easy way to connect your heart with your animal family.

As we adjust to the new normal during the COVID-19 pandemic, our animal families are calling upon us to take good care of ourselves. If we don’t, then we won’t be able to take good care of them.

One of the challenges we are experiencing to stem the tide of the pandemic is practicing physical and distancing to protect ourselves and our loved ones. It’s hard being isolated. Thank goodness we don’t have social distancing with our animal families.

Animals feel an excellent way to cope with social distancing is to be in your heart center. One way to access your heart chakra is to give yourself and animal a TTouch Heart Hug. Created by Linda Tellington-Jones, TTouch is a system of gentle circular touches that activate the body’s potential at a cellular level.

Heart hugs are an excellent way to say to yourself, “I love you.”

TTouch Heart Hugs will help you feel:

Calm and centered;

Balanced;

Less anxious and fearful;

Loved;

Connected to your animal family, loved ones, Mother Earth and the Universe.

Step 1: First, notice how you feel physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually in this present moment before you give yourself or animal a heart hug.

Step 2: Place your hand over the other with palms face down on your heart center, located in the middle of your chest.

Step 3: Imagine that there is a clock face on your chest underneath your palms. Twelve o’clock is at the top. Nine o’clock is your right shoulder, and three o’clock is your left shoulder. Six o’clock is located towards the ground at the bottom of the circle.

Step 4: Begin your circle with your hands at twelve o’clock, then gently move your hands over your heart chakra, creating a full circle plus add an additional quarter turn. It doesn’t matter which direction you do your Heart Hugs; just go in the direction which feels best to you, whether it’s clockwise or counterclockwise.

Step 5: Pause your hands over your heart center and take a couple of deep breaths before starting another circle. Offer yourself and your animal as many heart hugs as you need.

The more love and care you give yourself, the more love and care you can give to your animal and others. I encourage you to give yourself and your animal Heart Hugs often.

If you’re feeling worried, anxious, or stressed, then there’s a good chance your animal family is also feeling stress, worry, and anxiety.

Animals prefer to live in a calm, peaceful environment. When the energy around them feels stressful, it can cause behavioral issues and illnesses.

The good news is there are several things you can easily do right now to help you and your animal family to feel calm in mind and body.

I asked my animal family and other animals to offer solutions to reduce our stress levels.

First, the animals want to remind us that we are all in this together. If nothing else, the Covid-19 pandemic is teaching us that we are all inter-connected. It’s also telling us that we are part of a community, and we need to take care of ourselves and each other because we are all in this together.

They also want us to stay positive, as well as being kind and compassionate to one another.

Animals suggest the following stress-reducing tips:

Stay grounded like a wise old tree.

BE in the present moment: try not to worry about tomorrow or yesterday.

Breathe. When we are scared, we tend to hold our breath.

Frequent play is an excellent stress reducer.

Play music that is uplifting, yet calming.

Take frequent walks and connect with Mother Nature and Father Sky.

Meditate with your animals to create a calm, peaceful energy that is soothing and nurturing.

Offer Reiki.

Communicate with your animal family about all the changes and challenging times ahead.

Distant Animal Communication and Animal Reiki sessions are two ideal ways to reduce stress while promoting overall well-being while strengthening your bond.

Talking with your animal during an Animal Communication session is similar to talk therapy in that you and your pets can express your thoughts, feelings, and viewpoints to prevent misunderstandings and miscommunications. Clear communication can eliminate issues and problems on a physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual level.

A distant Reiki session is like a spa treatment for you and your animal family that creates harmony and balance. Reiki promotes deep relaxation, which fosters self-healing along with an overall sense of peace, stability, and well-being.

One of the bonuses of distant Animal Communication and Reiki sessions is you and your pets receive their many benefits from the comfort of your home.

Stress in pets is more common than you may realize. Our increased feelings of stress, worry, and anxiety can affect our pets.

Stress, worry, and anxiety are now part of the “new normal” as we all weather the current Covid-19 pandemic.

If you are feeling worried and concerned, then there is a good likelihood your pet will take on your stressful feelings. Why? Pets are incredibly sensitive to the energy in their environment, whether it’s joy, peace, anger, anxiety, or stress. Plus, they don’t like it when their humans suffer and want to help us feel better.

Your animal family can experience stress and anxiety more often than you may realize. Stress, if left unchecked, can negatively impact your pet’s behavior, health, and overall quality of life.

As a pet parent, it’s essential to recognize when your pet feels stressed-out. Animals offer clear signals when they’re feeling anxious and worried. Then it’s up to you to provide your animal family with balanced and peaceful solutions like daily exercise, play, and Reiki.

Animals use a variety of physical gestures and body language to communicate stress and anxiety.

11 Signs of Stress in Pets:

Excessive panting, even when it’s not hot;

Tail between hind legs;

Excessive whining or other types of vocalization;

Constant lip licking and/or excessive yawning;

Excessive scratching, paw licking/sucking, and over-grooming;

Restless pacing and can’t settle down;

Hiding behind and under furniture or in closets;

Decreased appetite, or refusal to eat their food especially special treats;

Peeing/pooping in irregular locations like in the house or out of the litter box;

Clingy and not wanting to leave your side or lap;

Excessive Shedding.

Animals prefer to live in a peaceful, calm environment. Given a choice, healthy pets will remove themselves from the source of their anxiety, like moving to another room, hiding in a closet, or going outside. If your pet feels unheard, they may act out on their concern by chewing paw, plucking feathers, growling, or even biting.

3 Simple Ways to Reduce Your Pet’s Stress:

When possible, give your animals regular exercise, fresh air, and play, which helps release excess energy and stress.

Animals do understand the reasons behind their behaviors. Like humans, animals appreciate it when they feel heard and validated. If you think your pet is stressed, but not sure why then contact me so I can give you insight into the source of your pet’s stress and discuss how best to alleviate it.

Animal Reiki naturally alleviates stress in animals and you. Animal Reiki gently releases energetic blockages and imbalances. The goal is to create a healing space that allows animals to go into a deep, relaxed space.

Experiencing stress and anxiety doesn’t feel good to pets. It’s up to you to learn how to read your animal companion’s body language to determine your pet’s state of mind. Your animals will appreciate your efforts to alleviate the cause of their concern and worry as soon as you can.
