How Reiki Benefits Your Pet

Animal Reiki is holistic by nature because it affects your pet’s entire being: body, mind, emotions, and spirit.

An Animal Reiki session gently calms and balances your pet’s nervous system, inviting them into a deeply relaxed space where healing can begin.

Reiki can be especially helpful when your pet is anxious, stressed, ill, aging, grieving, recovering, or adjusting to change.

When your pet feels calmer and more balanced, it can bring more peace, comfort, and joy to both of you.

How Animal Reiki is Different

Animal Reiki is different from Reiki for people because animals are always in charge of how they receive.

Unlike Reiki for humans, Animal Reiki does not focus on hand positions or hands-on touch.

Your pet does not need to be touched, held, or asked to stay still. They may sit close, move away, sleep, stretch, eat, or simply relax in their own way.

This allows your animal to receive Reiki in whatever way feels comfortable and safe to them.

GENTLE HEALING ENERGY

What Is Reiki?

Reiki is spiritual energy, also known as universal life force energy.

This life force energy flows through all living beings, including people, animals, plants, trees, oceans, mountains, and the air we breathe.

How Animal Reiki Works

Animals naturally respond to Reiki because they are sensitive to energy.

Reiki is offered by inviting your pet to receive what they need, allowing their nervous system to settle into greater calm, balance, and ease.

Your pet does not have to “do” anything during their session.

Reiki meets them exactly where they are.

Reiki for Stress, Illness, and Change

Animal Reiki can be especially comforting when your pet is anxious, ill, recovering, aging, grieving, or adjusting to a major life change.

It can also be helpful before or after vet visits, during travel, when welcoming a new animal or baby, or when your pet simply does not seem like themselves.

Reiki gives your pet a gentle way to relax, rebalance, and receive healing energy in whatever way feels safe and natural to them.

How Your Animal Reiki Session Works

At your appointment time, Reiki is offered remotely to your animal.

Your Animal Reiki session lasts approximately 30 minutes. Your pet does not need to be in the same room with you, and they are free to rest, move around, or receive in their own way.

After a session, you may notice your pet seems more relaxed, settled, sleepy, or peaceful.

Some shifts are subtle, and some animals respond more noticeably over a series of sessions.

What To Expect from Your Reiki Session

Every animal experiences Reiki in their own way.

During or after a session, your pet may become sleepy, more settled, quieter, or more relaxed. Some animals sigh, stretch, yawn, seek a cozy spot, or simply rest.

You may notice a gentle shift in your pet’s energy, mood, comfort, or behavior. Sometimes the changes are subtle, and sometimes they unfold over a series of sessions.

Reiki uses spiritual energy to help your pet go into deep relaxation, which allows the body to release energetic blocks and toxins on all levels of the animal’s being–physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. When the animal’s energy is unblocked and balanced, it increases your and your animal’s well-being.

Animals intuitively recognize and understand the power of Reiki. They instinctively know it can heal and recognize Reiki when offered to them.

Reiki is Reiki, whether offered to people, animals, or trees. The two differ in how they are offered.

Human Reiki stresses using hands and hand positions.

Animal Reiki is meditating with animals, not offering hands and hand positions.

With Animal Reiki, the practitioner never leads with their hands. Instead,  we begin the Reiki session by meditating.

The animal is in charge and can choose if and how they want to be touched.

Both use spiritual energy and are different ways of communicating this energy.  However, an Animal Reiki session is done silently and is not about finding out what your pet is thinking and feeling.

No. Reiki works with animals whether Cathy is physically present with them or offers Reiki from a distance.

Reiki is just as effective from any distance. Your pet will receive Reiki no matter where they live.

This is ideal for animals who receive Reiki treatment in their home or barn. Or where ever they feel the most comfortable.

Pets love receiving Reiki whenever it is offered to them.

During your pet’s Reiki session, you will look for signs of relaxation or connection that signal Reiki is having a positive impact on an animal.

Your pet may yawn, lie down or fall asleep and dream. A high-strung or hyper animal might not entirely relax. These pets still do their thing but will come back and check in on you.

Yes! A Reiki treatment can do no harm and doesn’t interfere with whatever veterinary care your animal may be receiving.

If you feel your pet is unwell, contact your veterinarian immediately.
